AC Lens is a privately held, online supplier of contact lenses, contact lens supplies, and optical health information. AC Lens carries all major brands of lenses in addition to reading glasses, solutions, cleaners, sunglasses, and eye care vitamins.

AC Lens was established in 1995 as Arlington Contact Lens Service. We have been selling contact lenses online and via mail order since 1996, and were one of the first online contact lens retailers. We operate a family of websites including:

AC Lens has experienced 6 straight years of at least 50% growth and we are experiencing continued growth in 2004. Our sales in the 2004 fiscal year will be roughly 9 million. We are able to sustain this growth because of our commitment to competitive prices and outstanding customer service. We offer “1-Click” reordering, online order tracking, opt-in email reminder service, and an extensive lens and accessory catalog.

Product/Service Overview
AC Lens is a full-service online contact lens retailer, shipping lenses directly to consumers. Orders are placed either via our websites, or on the phone with our in-house customer service staff. We carry all major lens brands and styles, and have 95% of our lenses in stock in our warehouse facility. We also offer our website visitors information about their eye and vision health, and their contact lens prescriptions.

AC Lens also stocks a full-line of accessories including solutions, dry eye drops, reading glasses, lens cases, and prescription swimming goggles. In addition, we work very closely with an online sunglass company and sell their complete line via our site. These sunglasses are drop-shipped from their facilities.

In addition to our DTC sales, we are well positioned to offer replacement contact lens services to chain drug stores, optical chains, HMOs, and vision care providers. We offer this service completely branded, creating a “transparent” experience for the consumer.

Industry Regulation
On February 4th this year, a new Federal Law called the “Fairness To Contact Lens Consumers” act went into effect. The law requires eye-doctors to release their patients’ prescriptions.

If AC Lens requests confirmation of a prescription from an eye doctor, he/she is legally required to confirm the prescription within 8 business hours. If any doctor fails to respond to our request within 8 business hours, the law allows us to assume the prescription is valid. An eye doctor may NOT require a patient to sign any form of release or waiver prior to confirming your prescription. We are allowed to contact your doctor by phone, fax or email. We generally use Fax and/or Phone to request confirmation of prescriptions.

AC Lens is compliant with all contact lens prescription regulations and we do not ship contact lenses without proof of a valid contact lens prescription. AC Lens has never been subject to any government investigation or complaint and is not aware of any possible violations or claims that could subject it to a complaint.

Target Market
AC Lens provides contact lenses and lens accessories directly to the consumer. Our target demographic is the contact lens vision correction market. Through testing and research we have found that this market is 20% of the population, slightly skewed to the female gender.
