Fluoroperm 151 Satisfaction (3OCT2007)
Experience with Fluoroperm 151. (1.) Worn since April 2006 to now (October 2007). (2.) Other RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) contact lenses worn: Menicon Z, Boston XO. (3.) Personal experience with the Fluoroperm 151 RGP contact lenses: I find the RGP or GP lenses essential for adequate visual acuity. My RX is in the high single digits, so soft lenses are out for me. I have been wearing contacts for over 40 years. Also, for the first time with the Fluoroperm Lens, I requested a diameter of 10.5 rather than the usual 10.0 prescribed routinely by most optometrists. The 10.5 diameter provides me with a much better fit, i.e., it doesn't pop off accidently nor do I get much dust under the lens on a windy day. Also, at 10.5, I have almost no headlight glare at night because the 10.5 lens covers my pupil. The Fluoroperm has a 151 Dk rating and I need all the oxygen I can get to avoid red eye. In comparison, I had serious dry eye problems with the Menicon Z. The Boston family of GP lenses were adequate but not great. Overall, I am happy with this F-151 lens. I have no plans to change unless some new technology comes along.
