These Lenses ROCK--With one warning
These lenses are some of the MOST comfortable lenses I have ever worn. I have sensitive eyes and a touch of dry eye now that I'm in my 30's. That said I did notice that it's important to use a multipurpose solution designed for silicone hydrogel and RUB. I found for myself--AMO Peroxide solution or Clear Care Peroxide feels the best!!!

Red Eyes after two days
I've been a long time daily use wearer of Acuvue lenses (17 years). During my most recent exam, my optometrist switched me to the Oasys contact lens. Initally the lenses were more comfortable, but after the second day of wear, I noticed that my eyes were very red. By the third day, I couldn't stand them. I took them out and put on glasses. After a two day break, I put in a new pair of Oasys lenses and suffered the same result.

I just got a pair of Acuvue Oasys as trial. They are very comfortable and the vision is perfect. I was using Ciba Vision Color blends before... alright lenses but not good for dark environments because of the color. I told my doctor I wanted to try PureVision and I did for a week. Did not work for me. Try the Oasys the next week. First time I put them on. Perfect fit and vision. To all the bad reviews here... it's not the lens it's your eyes structure and chemistry. You need to try different lenses and see which one fits you. With all due respect all you do is scare people and make them wonder whether these are good lenses or not. Not all lenses work for everyone.

Comfort is great, Vision so-so
I wore these lenses to play golf the other day and was amazed at how comfortable they were. I basically forgot I was wearing them. However, while the vision was initially great, after a couple of hours, I noticed some blurriness. I wonder if this is a common problem...

blurry vision & protein build-up
I loved these lenses at first they are extremely comfortable. But after a few days my vision becomes slightly blurry and progressively more so as the days pass. I find I can only wear them about 10 days or the blurring becomes to severe. I wish they could perfect the great comfort without the protein deposits or blurring. I will not purchase them again.

They feel great in the eyes but the cause bluriness
I read some other reviews and i guess i am not the only one that gets blurred vision with these contacts. I think they are great for distance viewing, but for reading they are horrible.

Excellent Contacts
I have been wearing these type of contacts for the last year - I do alot of computer work and my eyes were always drying out - these are the best out there that i have tried. My eyes don't feel tired or dried out. I recommend this type of contact lenses.

Best lenses I've had
I've been wearing contacts for over 25 years, and recently had been on Acuvue 2's. I do sleep in my lenses for 3-4 days, and as a result am scarring on my upper corneas. I tried the O2-Optix as they claimed 5 times more porous for oxygen, but my eyes turned red and I needed to removed them each day. I then tried Oasys, and turns out it's the best fit and experience.

Response to Red Eyes
I read the earlier review about red eyes caused by these lenses. I have to add that I don't think it was the lenses. I had the same problem with a different pair of lenses and with these my problems are solved. But the problem wasn't even because of the old lenses. It turns out that the problem was caused by the solution i was using, which incidentally had been recalled, and i didn't know. So before you accuse the lenses, try a different solution.

Great contacts
Oasys contacts are great if your eyes dry out really quickly. The vision does blur a little, but not enough to be noticeable. I've been wearing Oasys contacts for about a year, and personally, the trade off between the comfort I feel in my eyes versus the slightly blurred vision (not enough to even notice) made me renew these for another year

Going back to Oasys after trying Optix
I had been in Oasys lenses for a while, and developed the bad habit of not taking them out for extended periods of time. My last visit to the doctor revealed I had some vascularization of my cornea due to oxygen deficiency. FOR THOSE WHO ARE KEEPING THESE - OR ANY - LENSES IN FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, GET YOUR EYES CHECKED REGULARLY. Anyway. On my doctor's suggestion, I switched to O2 Optix because of the higher permeability, but found that the lens was more uncomfortable - I was actually 'aware' of the lens in a way I hadn't been with the Oasys. My right eye also developed a tendency to feel like there was something under the lens, and often felt like it was "peeling" off of my eye, especially in the mornings after sleeping in them. As a result, I was taking them out every night even though they were "extended wear". After a few days of having lens problems while I was driving, I called and exchanged all my remaining unopened Optix boxes for Oasys.

Long lasting and great distance vision, but lousy up close vision
I've been wearing Acuvue Oasys for a year now, having switched to this brand due to dry eyes. These are very comfortable and I can get three to four weeks out of a pair. I wear them as daily wear and never sleep in them. However, I thought my reading vision had deteriorated dramatically in the past year and attributed it to age...I'm in my early 40s. What a surprise to read the comments and learn that this up-close vision is in fact a problem of Oasys! I'm still re-ordering a year's supply since I can put up with this...it's only labels and very small print that pose issues for me and reading glasses correct the problem.

Comfortable but blurry !
Yes these Oasys lens are thin and comfortable to start with but within the first day-blur . I have been wearing Illusion contact lens for 2 years and with the same exact prescription I can read labels , cell phone incoming numbers etc but with these I have to squint and strain my eyes . After these boxes are gone I wont buy them again. Its a trade off. Comfort but not very clear or nearly as strong as other lens .

Best option for sensitive eyes
My eyes are very sensitive and dry out easily, and at first I was able to use a lower-quality lens, but after a few months my eyes couldn't take it any more. At that point, I was seeing the eye doctor a couple of times a month for a few months, trying and trying and trying different kinds of lenses, and I could not find something comfortable enough. Then, I tried the Oasys lenses. These lenses are comfortable, and they keep my eyes fairly moist. I thought I would never find lenses that would suit me, but the Oasys lenses are perfect. Overall, my vision is very good, and I don't quite know what people mean by having "blurred vision" from these lenses as I have not experienced that yet (I've had them for about 7 months now). These lenses are easy to handle, and they last long (I can get at least 3 weeks, sometimes nearly 4 out of one pair!) and they remain comfortable for the whole period that they are used.

These are very comfortable. They seem like you aren't wearing any contacts. They do get blurry every once in a while, but I'll still use them.

Relieves dryness
I switched from Acuvue 2, because of dryness and redness in the evening or around air conditioners. Much more comfortable and NO redness at the end of the day. The oxygen permeability makes these lenses healthier for your eyes in comparison to the older hydrogel lenses.

one of the better lenses i have used
i just recently returned to using contact lenses after having my eye scratched by the lenses i used about 20 years ago. i can say this. i have had 1 pair last me a month. but i do take them out and clean them once a week. they work perfect for dry eyes or heavy computer users. suggestion for those with the protein build up use the ciba vision clear care for a good cleaning once a week. i keep mine in night and day for a solid week before i remove them to clean them and rest my eyes for 24 hours. it is good to get the crud out of the eyes by letting them rest and after that your good to go for another week. i have tried pure vision, ciba vision night and day and both of them did not work for me. but as the other fellow said every set of eyes are different you just have to find the right contact to work for you.

Back into contacts thanks to Oasys!!!
I was on some older lenses and just couldn't take it anymore. Out of them for about 5 years. Doc got me into proclear compatibles, which I can wear for about 6 hours, better, but still not liveable in my mind. New doc got me into Oasys. Wow! I'm back to 18 hour days with no problems!!! They DO haze over if you let them dry out, like if you use a computer monitor too much, and, I actually found I notice them so little I forget to blink. I use a little Tears Naturale Free (pure saline) to keep up when I overdo it. They are expensive at $26 for 1-2 week lenses, but, if you're like me and have no option, they are a god send. I paid $45 from the Doc for my first set.

REGULAR USER
i used oasys lenses for over a year now and first 4/5 months they were ok and good and for the last 6 months supply they torn in edges and dont last long and when u show them at light both lenses seem to be different material and now i can only manage to last one pair of lens per week as they get dried off even though i take them out every night. i have been using acuvue lenses for over 3 years now and now they look like they not original acuvue as they used to be.

Rough start, but smooth sailing now
Take this review with a grain of salt, because contacts seem to effect everyone differently. I was on Focus 1-2 for many years (8+) and I have very temperamental eyes. I've tried to switch from Focus several times, but switched back because of dryness etc. This time, I tried to switch back and the dryness and vision were worse with Focus. I switched back to Oasys and after a week of slight discomfort, things have been good. Though my eyes do get dry sometimes, it's never to the extent that I've experienced in the past. I can't remember a day of dry red eye in the last year I've had them -- which is pretty amazing now that I'm thinking about it. Seems less sharp during the day, but much better for night driving. The only way I can explain that is they are not as sharp in general, but my eyes are not tired when I get on the road.

Puffy eyes but otherwise good
Ive tried several other brands of lens and have had problems finding one that feels comfortable, doesn't cause dryness, and is vision clear. I agree that these lenses do cause blurriness although as others have said, the comfort level is worth it to me. However I find that within minutes of putting in my lenses the lower lid of my eyes puff up. I can't remember whether i experienced this with other lenses so would love to hear other's view on this. Does anyone else get puffiness and any tips on why this happens? Also any tips on a particular lens that doesn't cause this effect?

The only lenses that have worked for me.
I love this product. After trying out about 6 or 7 different brands, I never thought I would find contacts that would work for me. After trying Oasys, I will never go back. I frequently forget that I am wearing them, because they are so comfortable. They rarely dry out and are super comfy!

Ideal for musicians!
I play the violin in a symphony orchestra. I've always had trouble with long passages of rapid notes (e.g. a whole page of 16th notes) with no rests - inevitably, as I stared at the notes, my eyes would start to dry out and I would have to blink. In the worst case, my contact lenses would be so dry when I finally blinked that they would stick to my eyelid and I would miss several notes before my vision cleared. Yesterday, I played Mozart's Requiem with my new Oasys lenses. A page which I have never been able to play without a "blink break" was no longer a problem at all - the lenses dry out less and stay completely clear after blinking!

Acuvue Oasys vs Focus Visitint
I've used Vocus Visitint for 5 or 6 years. I had my annual checkup last week and my doctor wanted me to try Acuvue Oasys. I immediately told him my near vision seemed worse. "It's presbyopia....gets worse at age 40, tapers off by 50. You'll have to get a pair of readers". Once home, I immediately noticed I could no longer distinguish between a 1 and a 3 (1/8" digit) on a size tag of jeans. I held a cash register receipt at arms length and could not read it. I put in my old Acuvue lenses and I can, again, read. The purpose of wearing contacts is so that you don't have to carry glasses. With Oasys, I can't even read a label at the grocery store. Gotta get my 'Focus' back.

I can't believe how blurry my eyes have been since I started wearing these contacts. My eyes haven't been dry since I started wearing them, but is it worth it since my vision is blurry?

Disappointed
At first, Acuvue Oasys contacts seemed like a godsend! They were extremely comfortable and my eyes didn't feel like they were drying out towards the end of day like they normally do. After a two week trial, I decided to go ahead and order a years' supply. However, the feelings of comfort did not last long. I have to say that I have never gone through a box of contacts faster - I was told to change them every two weeks. Instead, it's been more like every two days! My eyes have never been more itchy or red. I've extremely careful and gentle with my contacts like I've always been, but several pairs of my Oasys contacts have actually ended up with holes torn right in the middle after a couple of days of wear! I've been wearing contacts for over 15 years - although I have a pair of glasses, I've never really worn them. I find that now I have to wear my glasses at least 2-3 times a week during the day as my Oasys contacts are so unbearable. My Oasys contacts frequently pop out of my eye during the day - again, this has never happened to me before! Also, they frequently fold in half WHILE IN MY EYE - and get stuck under my upper eye lid! Not only is this completely uncomfortable, it's also very dangerous if this happens while say, you are driving! It has been sure hell and torture with these contacts and I am so thrilled as I am down to my last pair and now can go back to my old standby.

Acuvue Oasys is the Best!
Growing up and through college, I could wear my contact lenses all day. After college, though, they started drying out and getting protein deposits. I switched to disposable lenses to solve the deposits issue, but I still suffered from dry eyes by mid-day so I started wearing my glasses most of the time. Acuvue Oasys is the first lens that has been comfortable enough to wear all day again! I forget that I have them in and wear them 16hrs every day. What a great product!

My suggestion for better use of these wonderful lenses!
I experienced some of the things that some people talk about, but here is what I do now and I have no problems! I have two cases that I keep in the office and every morning I switch pairs. I use the OPTI-FREE Solutions Replenish. Every time I put in the lenses they feel like a new pair. This will reduce or eliminate the protein buildup and the blurriness that people complain about. I stopped using lenses a few years ago because Michigan climate gets really dry sometimes and this was very bad for eyes/lenses. But when I tried these, I even forgot that I had them on and felt very silly and happy to find out that the reason they were not in the case was because they were still on my eyes :)

I am a long time contact lens wearer (10 years), and have always had difficulty with dry eye at the end of the day. I have not had that problem with the Oasys lens. I have worn the Oasys lenses for about 1 year, and I am happily re-ordering another year supply!

Acuvue Oasys Contacts are the best to wear!!
I have been wearing Acuvue Oasys contacts since May. I have found them to be the best contacts than any of the other brands I have purchased in the last 5 years. I like that the lens are designed to help reduce eyes being dry. They are great. I am telling all of my friends to try them. I know that they will be very pleased with the results. Thanks for offering a product that consumers have grown to love since first hitting the market.
