December's Affiliate Sales Tip: Changing Currencies with CJ Links
Do you market to a non-US audience? Take advantage of international sales to boost your commissions even higher! ACLens.com ships to over 40 countries and our site can accept multiple currencies including Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollar, British Pound, and Euro's.
Here's a tip so you can easily change your affiliate landing pages to direct your links to the currency of choice. Please note these instructions are for Commission Junction affiliates and will only work with text and banner creatives at this time. We're currently working on a solution for ShareASale affiliates.
International Currency Conversion
- Login to CJ and go to our links page. Click the check box for "Hide tracking code in link?"
- This should bring up a longer string of code for the particular link (I'll use 10300402 Link to Acuvue as an example). In this longer code, you'll now see a section that has: window.status='http://www.aclens.com/';return true;
- On the end of our URL in that string, add: default.asp?NCurID=2 so that our URL now shows http://www.aclens.com/default.asp?NCurID=5.
- The entire string for this particular ad should look like this (where XXXXX is your PID):

The default.asp?NCurID=5 that you added should now bring up all of our products in Canadian Dollars when a visitor clicks on a link. You will need to do all of these steps for each individual banner and currency that you want to use. Here is the code for our other currencies:
- UK Pounds- default.asp?NCurID=2
- Euro's- default.asp?NCurID=3
- Japanese Yen- default.asp?NCurID=4
- Canadian Dollar- default.asp?NCurID=5
If you want to do a product feed with any of the different currencies, you'll need to contact us since it will be entirely different.

It's slightly different with contact lenses since the buyer needs a prescription to make a purchase. There are many directions you can take with our top products. You could create a featured product page which would showcase one of the items. Another option would be to create a "Top-Selling" products page which could include our best selling contact lenses along with other vendors products you may offer. If you're stuck, we'll be more than happy to take a look at your site or marketing efforts and suggest some ways to increase AC Lens sales using our top products.

February 2007 Sales Tip: Increasing Contact Lens Conversions
Every week an affiliate asks how they can increase conversion rates at ACLens.com using just their existing traffic. There really is no easy answer to this question and it's usually based on a site-to-site basis but here are a few general ideas, which will have a positive affect on your conversions.
1. Landing Pages - Sending every link to our homepage is sure to be a conversion killer. Your visitors want to find their contact lenses fast so they can place the order and go on their merry way. By sending your visitor's to the category or product page, the viewer can read the description and easily place their order.
2. Copywriting - Writing good clean sales copy is probably the #1 way to get your traffic converting. Great copywriting has multiple benefits for an affiliate site. First, it qualifies the buyer by making sure they're interested in contact lenses. Secondly, you can help pre-sell the buyer before they even reach our site, which has a big impact in the buying process. You can find numerous copywriting resources on the Internet and in any bookstore. A few good Free online resources include Copy Blogger and Copywriters Board.
3. A/B testing - If you have the technical means, A/B testing will allow you to use a combination of links, copy, or any other combination of metrics to find what turns a viewer on your site into a buyer on ours. Multivariate testing will show your conversion rates for different types of presentations. You can then compare the numbers across several test campaigns to decide what your viewer's want.
